4. What type of machine do they use?

How are they verified?
How are they secured?
How simple are they to rig?

I recall hearing how one particular type of touch screen machine with no paper back-up, I don't remember the type or brand, which if someone knew how to do it and had the correct software could fix the machines in less than 5 minutes each and do so in a way it would be almost impossible to detect.

I know Wisconsin used a real ballot so there is a paper backup.
But, does anyone know how ballots are verified? Are the machines trusted? Are any randomly verified by the actual paper ballots? Are there any checks and balances?
