As per segment on Bob Edwards program a couple of months ago, 12 million was an early estimate. As time went on, the magnitude of the spill was determined to be larger but the media kept to the original estimate.

By the way, Bob Edwards program is one of the few things that make a subscription to XM worth the money.

They used to have substantial public programs but those have dwindled. Now, they even have three hours of Car Talk every afternoon. WTF?
