Is anyone familiar with the rules for college students voting there?

1. Acceptable forms of ID in Ohio:

Current and valid photo identification, defined as a document that shows the individual’s name and current address, includes a photograph, includes an expiration date that has not passed and was issued by the U.S. government or the state of Ohio;
Current utility bill;
Current bank statement;
Current government check, paycheck or other government document.

In Ohio you have 30 days to obtain a drivers license from the day you move into the state (if you have a drivers license from another state). If you do not have a drivers license from another state you may obtain an Ohio State ID but you will need a birth certificate to obtain the ID. In Ohio you can only have either a valid drivers license or a State ID, not both.

The state legislature is in the process of changing the law as to what will be acceptable ID to vote in the state. They want to require a valid Ohio drivers license or valid Ohio State ID (for non-drivers). This may or may not take effect for the General Election in 2012.
