very much worth it. Be sure to hydrate the night before the event. I see your event is in the evening...that could be a plus. The campaign provided water...I saw 2 elderly go down with heat stroke. I attended to one briefly....Paramedics were extremely prompt with response.
Experienced a very community-bonding feeling about the event. 
Get out the vote is ON!
