I try to avoid The Oregonian, being a mediocre, RW newspaper with an FR-esque online comment section.

Not being the most social creature, I don't really know any liberal/progressive groups, but that isn't really a problem since all you have to do to meet other progressives is go to a random coffee or tea place. In the three years I've lived here, I'm not sure I've ever overheard a conservative blathering on about Reagan or whatever it is they talk about. Maybe once or twice, but the incidents are so far and few between that I don't really remember. I do seem to remember posting about one event, but I think that was because it was such a novel experience.

Wish I could be more helpful! Do you or your wife have jobs lined up? What part of town are you looking at?
