Human dynamics jsut doesn't work that way. When we argue with people we simply make them defensive. I was in a sales meeting once where one of the salesmen made the statement "no one ever won an argument". The next day the owner of the company came in and said he spent half the night thinking about it and going through his years of sales and simply said "he's right."
Many of these people are looking for an argument so i don't want to give them what they want. If I am asked, I simply give my views, which are usually fairly long, nuanced and detailed with evidence. After that they leave me alone. You are not going to overcome thousands of hours of propaganda with facts.
