SEGUIN — At his first commissioners court meeting since being charged with pot possession, Guadalupe County Judge Mike Wiggins on Monday apologized for his “poor decisions.”

“I apologize for the pain and suffering and the disappointment, not only that I've brought myself but all the people of Guadalupe County,” Wiggins, 58, said to start the meeting.

The meeting ended with the announcement that Wiggins would take a two-week leave of absence from office.

Following Wiggins to the podium Monday was Guadalupe County Justice of the Peace Todd Friesenhahn, who told Wiggins he should resign in the best interests of the county and citizens.
