Opposition to the federal policy of removing the retired oil and gas platforms has been fierce among some scientists in Texas and Louisiana, as well as among some conservation groups.

We need Big Oil to clean up the Gulf Not Sportsman or Taxpayer funds. Ther is a great program already up and running. Rigs to Reefs. But that cost Big Oil money and they don't want to take care of their own mess.
