the temperature here in Wharton is 76 and it still hasn't started raining yet. It looks like the worst of this next rain spell is going to stay north of here, but it will probably hit the northern suburbs pretty severely. Nearly all of the lakes in the eastern half of the state are completely full with the only area of the state needing more rain is in the San Angelo/Abilene area. The Highland lakes upstream from Austin are above 40% full and still climbing and there were fairly heavy rains along the I-35 corridor, particularly west of San Antonio and Fort Worth.

I've been getting bit by insects a lot more within the past few days and I notice that the two cats that roam outside inside the apartment complex have fleas and are shedding a lot. The Siamese cat that has been wary of me over the last year is finally letting me pick him up while a gray and white tomcat is getting fat on the treats that I leave behind (he purrs when he eats). Other than that, I'm listening to 80s synthpop tonight and having a good time being lazy.
