I would never trust republicans to use the database correctly and without malice.
Name confusion. There are going to be thousands of similar names of legal and undocumented persons. You just wait to see the fiasco they create by just purging first and then putting the responsibility to "re-register with proof of citizenship" back on the voter.
This is just another end around for them to keep shaving those 6-10 points every election.
