I accompanied an organization to Tijuana in the nineties, helping deliver food to some centers that they had set up to feed children. I encountered some of the best dressed poor people in the world.

When asked for donations, people will not hesitate to hand over the contents of their closet.

The contents of their wallet is an entirely different matter.
