1. How did they conclude that the roof repair was responsible?

Looking at the damage to the Honda Fit, while I wasn't there for the evidence, I don't understand how the jury came up with the decision that the roof repair was the cause of the injuries. A full size Toyota Tundra pickup truck hit a Honda Fit head on.

Adhesive bonding of body panels is used as an alternative to welding in all kinds of places, including by the OEM manufacturers as well as in aerospace applications.
