First off, before I forget: My eternal thanks for all the time you take to find and post such articles to try to enlighten and educate on this issue, as well as a number of other subjects here on DU.

I know I look back on what I've gone through over the decades, and wish we were as enlightened on trans issues then as we are today. Knowing my own struggles, which have included self-harm, I can only imagine how much easier things have been, and how much less pain there would've been, if I grew up during a better time to be a young trans person.

It's why I'm thankful for all the articles you post, and why I speak up so much - in responsible to articles you post, as well as others. I don't want the trans youth of today to go through the turmoil I did. So, if we can protect them and give them the care they need now? I'm all for it.

It's just a shame that so many like the goons running Texas are so obsessed with doing the opposite.
