Crash Kills 2 Oakton High School Students, Injures Third: Police

Police had closed southbound traffic on Blake Lane at the Five Oaks Road intersection following a two-vehicle crash that killed two Oakton High School students early Tuesday afternoon.

OAKTON, VA Two Oakton High School students were killed and another student was injured early Tuesday afternoon when a BMW ran off the road and hit them as they were walking on a sidewalk near the intersection of Blake Lane and Five Oaks Road in Fairfax, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
The three students were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. Later Tuesday afternoon, Fairfax police said two of the students had died at the hospital.
Around 1 p.m., officers had closed off access to southbound Blake Lane at the Five Oaks Road intersection to allow the Crash Reconstitution Unit to evaluate the scene, which had been cordoned off with yellow tape.
