Eugene A. Delgaudio has for years lived something of a bifurcated life: He was an elected leader in Virginia, debating taxes, zoning and other local matters. He also made a living as head of the anti-gay group Public Advocate of the United States, blasting what he calls the homosexual lobby and sometimes raising money by vilifying gay men as rapists and pedophiles.
On Tuesday, Delgaudio (R-Sterling) lost one of his jobs, as a member of the Board of Supervisors in Loudoun County, 30 miles northwest of Washington. ... By about 200 votes out of more than 6,000 cast, the 60-year-old politician was defeated by Democrat Koran T. Saines, 34, a human resources executive.
....
I think enough people with common sense finally got tired of the nonsense, said Jim Burton, a political independent and former supervisor who frequently sparred with Delgaudio on the dais. In the long run, it couldnt help but be connected. Thats his reputation. The people in Sterling who pay attention understand that. Finally, enough of them went to the polls.

Ive warned about the homosexual lobby for 33 years, and Im not using the phraseology from 33 years ago today, said Delgaudio, who remarked that he has plenty of gay friends. He said the agenda of the gay lobby is dangerous.
Name one.

Nice Work If You Can Get It
Hows this for a plan:
1. Send people letters and email, pleading for money to fight a terrible (yet non-existent) danger.
2. Use that money to finance another round of dishonest pleas for money.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2, month after month, year after year, while taking a management fee for my efforts.
Nice, huh? Actually, I didnt invent it. Im trying to figure out if thats what anti-gay activist Eugene Delgaudio is doing.
