(51,907 posts)Join Environment Washington, the Bullit Center's Denis Hayes and the solar industry to call on Gov. Jay Inslee for more solar power in Washington.
You may know that we have been working to reach 150,000 solar roofs in Washington, but you may also still be wondering if solar actually works for Washington especially in the pouring rain. The short answer: YES!
Tomorrow, well be releasing our new report, "Lighting The Way: What We Can Learn From Americas Top 12 Solar States." We will be standing outside the Bullitt Center, the greenest commercial building in the world and a shining example of how homeowners and businesses can take steps to reduce our carbon emissions and tackle climate change.
Stand with us tomorrow to urge our leaders to get more solar power in Washington.
According to this report, its not the climate of the state that allows for more solar power: It's the policies. We could reach our goal of 150,000 solar rooftops by 2020, but we need our state leaders to pass policies that incentivize homeowners and businesses to invest in solar energy. That way, more of us can follow the Bullitt Centers lead in going green.
I hope to see you there tomorrow as we call on Washington state to go big on solar.
