110. Testify about Skagit timber harvest 10/9

Wednesday, October 9: The Skagit County Hearing Examiner will hold a public hearing on the open record appeal submitted by Evergreen Islands (EI) asking that the Mitigated Determination of Nonsignificance issued on a development proposal for the south slope of Mt. Erie be revised to a Determination of Significance (DS).

The landowner of the 40-acre parcel proposes to harvest timber, construct an access road, and develop the site for residential purposes. EI is requesting the change to a DS, which is required if a project “is likely to have a probable significant adverse environmental impact” and which would require a more detailed Environmental Impact Study. Only written comments will be accepted until 4:30 PM Oct. 8 unless you are one Evergreen Islands’ witnesses.
