Washington health exchange enrolls nearly 10,000 so far [View all]

The state health exchange has enrolled more than 9,400 people since launching Oct. 1, and another 10,000 have applied for insurance through the online marketplace.

The first 9,400 people enrolled included those who were enrolling in Medicaid plans and those who were purchasing health insurance through the Healthplanfinder. Although, so far, Medicaid enrollments have outstripped the 916 people who signed up for plans they would have to pay for.

The remaining 10,000 people who have applied have until Dec. 23 to make final payments on their plans to be fully enrolled.
