Everett Transit explores new home for operations center [View all]

As public transit continues to expand in the Seattle region, Everett Transit is looking to find a new home base to grow its operations.

The city-owned transit agency said Monday that it plans to seek feedback starting this week as part of its search for a potential new location for a larger maintenance, operations and administrative facility. It said it has outgrown its operations center at 3225 Cedar St. in the Port Gardner neighborhood.

“Everett Transit is currently exploring long-term facility solutions that will effectively support its operations and future growth, particularly in response to the evolving needs of a light rail community,” according to a city post. “We are assessing options that can accommodate the current and future needs of our fleet and workforce as the agency aims to enhance its capacity and service delivery.”

Everett Transit plans to work with the infrastructure consulting firm Perteet Inc. during its search process for a new facility.
