7. That's the problem with having only one Class 1 railroad for a whole state.

Buffett looks at both the grain and the oil and sez, "Mine, all mine!" because Union Pacific doesn't have trackage there, to my knowledge. I guess he basically has a monopoly of sorts up there. Maybe some smaller/regional railroads can help out (if there are any nearby), or the FRA could force some cooperation with UP, or there's always trucks, though pretty bad for the environment and not nearly as cost effective.
