a panel discussion featuring King County Sheriff John Urquhart; Lisa Daugaard, deputy director of the Public Defender Association and supervisor of its Racial Disparity Project; MDC Director Lem Howell, for 40 years a leading litigator for victims of excessive use of force by police; and Howard Gale, who brought a lawsuit against police for infringing on First Amendment rights during protests at the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York. Vice President Dan Fievez will moderate.
December 17 The final MDC meeting of the year takes place December 17. We will discuss the draft operating plan developed at the November 8 planning retreat and the executive committee will be seeking approval of it. Following approval, the finance committee will develop a budget for 2015 in keeping with the plan. If there is time we will continue discussion of the proposed changes to the bylaws.
January 14 This first meeting of the year will be devoted to discussing the 2015 budget. If there is time we will continue discussion of the proposed changes to the bylaws.
As usual, our meeting takes place noon - 1:30 pm, Plaza 600 Building #205, 600 Stewart St.
