from the beautiful Whitopia of Coeur d'Alene, ID, gets Rush Limbaugh on at least 2 stations.
People here drive, a lot, back and forth between the two cities, with a lot of drive time radio, so now there is nothing to carry the liberal message.
Dumb.
Lakoff says part of how people's political ideas are shaped and reinforced is the constant repetition of principles. Since that leaves us with only radical right ideas, those will be the ones reinforced, which increases the likelihood that people's thinking will be framed from a radical right perspective. If true that could have quite an impact on schools, school boards, and other political efforts going forward.
It would seem that at least one Democratic whale might purchase a station and sell it to a democratically-run cooperative (like the Basque Cooperatives, maybe?) some of our more progressive residents, let them just feed liberal shows 24x7. Business plan time.
Can you imagine the staff meetings
Or maybe we could crowd-source a donation big enough to start a low-power station, see if we can get any growth. Without greedy bastards at the helm it might provide a few jobs, or at least some that don't require you to go out and screw people with low-income for a living.
Time for coffee, and talk...
