(51,907 posts)It's been a month since the Polar Destroyer left Seattle and after a period of rest and reflection a lot of people want to get together and talk about where to go with this campaign and these organizing structures.
On August 8th Rising Tide Seattle will be hosting a Shell No! Party for Climate Justice to take a look back at our crazy spring and celebrate our work.
Then on August 10th we'll be having a SNAC meeting to talk about how to move forward - both on challenging shell and on some people's desire for broader cross-movement organizing.
sHell No! Party for Climate Justice:
Join Rising Tide Seattle and our allies as we look back and toast the many awesome moments in this spring's sHell No! Campaign.
Let's recognize and celebrate the work we did, and the relationships that made this happen. Please join us for an evening of fun, music and festivities and building the relationships that will continue the movement this summer and fall.

sHell No! Action Council Next Steps Meeting!
We brought the world's attention to what Shell is trying to do in the Arctic. We marched, picketed, kayaked, and risked arrest together. We pulled together crazy actions we dreamed up, and put our bodies on the line.
What next? The SNAC was a powerful organizing space for three months, but it also had it's problems. Many folks want to continue to challenge Shell and their Arctic Drilling aspirations. Others want to use the relationships and coalitions we've built to do more cross-movement organizing.
Come to this SNAC mass meeting and let's figure out some structures to continue building on our momentum into the fall.
When: Monday August 10th @ 6:30 PM
Where: Hillman City Collaboratory: 5623 Rainier Ave South
Hope to see you there!
