We have a candidate! Tanya Lohr to run against Glenn Grothman in Wisconsin District 20. Pics. [View all]

After running unopposed in this bright red part of the state, the despicably vile Glenn Grothman will have to face a challenger in the upcoming election.

This afternoon, the Washington County Democratic HQ in West Bend was packed to the rafters. When Tanya Lohr stepped forward to announce her decision to run for State Senate she was met with loud cheers and chants of "thank you, thank you".

Tanya spoke about restoring funding for education in Wisconsin, restoring healthcare services that have been pulled out from under our citizens, and restoring equal pay for equal work. "I know that money does matter to women", said Tanya.

I got to speak with Tanya for a few minutes. She's bright and articulate, and it's clear her heart's in the right place.

Tanya is a social sciences teacher in the West Bend public school system, where her husband teaches chemistry. They have two children, 6-year old twins.
