Moving hom! Back to Toronto after 14 years down here...need some help [View all]

Hi Canada forum....I just got offered a job in Toronto late last week. We are very excited about moving home!

I was hoping some folks here might be able to help me out a little with some major hurdles we will need to jump to make this happen.
As excited as I am, I've also become very anxious.
We need a place to live, first and foremost. We're looking in the Mississauga area, in and around the 407/403 area of town. A good friend of mine lives in that area and has nothing but good things to say about it.
Does anyone have an contacts, realtors or otherwise, that are trustworthy that might be able to help fill our needs? I have been poking around craigslist and kijiji, but I am always skeptical about those ads. It would really suck to send someone a check for $3,000 + for first and last and get to the address and find a vacant lot.

We are hoping for a 2-3 bdrm, house or townhouse, transit access(of course), pet friendly with a little patch of lawn or close to parks(for dog).
1 - 1.5 bathroom(I have my wife and teen daughter to deal with, you do the math!
Parking for 2 cars.
Safe, clean, friendly.

Any help would be so appreciated as we move forward....

And I promise, once I am home, I will help do whatever I can to dump Harper and his cheesy Bush Lite regime!!!!
Also, as an added bonus...Crazy Mayor Rob Ford will be on my list as well!
