one can not help thinking that Harrison and her ilk are engaged by politicians and civil servants precisely so they can be offered up as sacrifices when schemes such as Workfare start to implode. Essentially they are engaged to act as 'cut-outs' between the public and the people in power such as IDS at the DWP so that the latter do not have to take the blame for their fuck ups. Regardless of whether the criminal charges gainst A4E employees stick Harrisons resignation has acted as a handy diversion to take peoples attention away from the other fiascos in the area of government employment policy.
