1. Breaks my heart to think we might have to lose MN-1.

Democrat Tim Walz has done a great job for the people of MN-1 since 2006, and could probably continue to be re-elected indefinitely. He has set his sights on the Minnesota governorship instead, though, and we'll probably lose the district as a result.

I certainly understand Walz's decision. He's a family man, and would probably love to work in-state, where he can spend more time with his family. Besides, holding a seat in the U.S. House, with its two-year election cycle and the resulting perpetual state of campaigning (and fund-raising), must wear a person down. Still, I wish he could have stuck it out in Congress, as the DFL party here in Minnesota has several other very good gubernatorial candidates
