The problem is since it's defaulting to thumbnails every single time I go to open or save a file I have to manually switch it from thumbnails view to list view. That's what's driving me batty. I DO always get list view in Windows Explorer or WordPerfect or Word, but it's my graphics programs that are suddenly defaulting to thumbnail view.

Windows XP and XP Pro both have a Files Options section in the control panel where you can chose stuff like double clicking to open a file or move through sub-folders, etc. and they also have the option to chose what view you want to default to and whether or not you want that view for everything or not. I've got all the right things checked off so that it should be defaulting to list view but I'm still getting the damn thumbnails view anyway.
