74. More problems with Malwarebytes

I suddenly developed a problem with Malwarebytes – it wouldn’t open, so I thought I’d remove it and start again. But it wouldn’t uninstall – I kept getting a message telling me it wasn’t on the computer and therefore couldn’t uninstall! Some Googling found a forum where others had the same problem, and you have to go to another website to get instructions on how to uninstall.

What I’ve done now is gone to the website “Old Versions” and installed a previous version, 1.44. It’s working just fine, but it will cease to be supported in March 2015, so I’ll have to rethink when that time comes.

But I am annoyed that Malwarebytes keeps advertising “Free Version” when what it really means is “Free Trial”. It seems they’re making a determined push to get everyone on to the paid version. I just wish they’d be more honest. I don’t want to spend more money if the free version will get rid of problems for me.
