2. Now days companies tie in hosting and registration

I've been using a hosting company for years that has reasonable rates. I also did a search on registration costs and this company was rated highly because of low fees and no hidden costs. The link is to their price list page.

$15 dollars a year to register a .com domain

Best of luck. I don't know if your hosting company allows it but I see no reason why one can register in one place and then pay another for hosting.
