This part of "Backup" makes me feel stupid... [View all]

I've got a couple of SSD's lying around and want to replace my hard drive. Might as well have STDs for all the trouble I'm having.

Got stuff from Easus, WD, and others that are supposed to make it east to clone a drive-- not so easy. They all make some sort of a huge backup file that may or may not be restorable with all registered software, registry and other stuff in its proper place that a clone seems like it should have.

No problem connecting the drives-- USB3 adapter makes them external hard drives, which is cute, but not what I want. Once I get through this, I'll carry the small one around as an external drive for my laptop.

I just want to clone C: to H:. If I have to clone C: to a partition on E:, I'll do that. If I have to make a boot disk to reinstall a backup, I'll do that, as long as I'm sure the backup is a full one.
