About 91KB per email.

16KB for a logo the size of DU's in JPEG format.
75KB for the Email content since most emails are in HTML format and email header

You may want to see if your email app can download headers only unless you open the email. This will cause a pause when loading the email to retrieve the contents, but it will allow you to filter the content prior to downloading it.

Another thing you can do is use Open WiFi hotspots and connect to your email server with an SSL connection for encryption to keep prying eyes from stealing your password.
