I used to build my own. But that was during the Windows 3.1 to the Win XP days. Now I find it's easier to buy a Win 10 machine ready made and clean out the bloatware. You can get a good deal from NewEgg if you look around. I have even had good luck with some of their factory reconditioned machines. If you want Office or accounting software you'll have to install it yourself. I have never had to wait for the availability of an item. They would always have it at my door within about a week after I ordered it.
