"Unable to transfer files" - annoying pop-up. Dates back to trying to link android to laptop. [View all]

Several months ago I was venturing outside of my Low Tech comfort zone, trying to link the phone and the What'sApp to the laptop. All a hassle that barely, sort-of worked but too much trouble with no real need for that since I don't take the laptop anywhere.

All that was long gone and out of mind until recently when a Pop-up started up, "Unable to transfer files." At first I made no connection what it was referring to. It would pop-up with a Close button, and after 2-3 times of the button, it would go away. Finally did the Google due diligence and peeps with answers said to go to Settings, then phone things and click Terminate-Repair-Reset. Fine, but only Repair was enabled, did that and the pop-up keeps coming at Startup. More Googling and an answer was to go to Task Manager and remove phone something. Did that and no dice, pop-up keeps coming.

*** Solutions, anyone? Thanks.
