Note the link on the right-hand side of the page to a forum on the subject if you have any questions about the recommendations for a particular program. Often someone will have asked about a program already, and you just need to do a search.

I let Windows handle my wireless configuration (rather than the program that came with my USB adapter) and I like my system pretty bare-bones, so the only programs I have checked at startup are my antivirus and my firewall.
