We do face this problem frequently, I have lost my wedding photographs one time. But, I manage to recover almost everything I've ever lost by using testdisk & PhotoRec. I have lots of business information in my laptop. I use amrev outlook PST recovery tool to get back my corrupted files, emails and important reports.
