2. I dunno, XP is the fastest flavor in VMWare for me..

Not even 64-bit (not that it really matters). XP Home SP3, VMWare Fusion 5.0.3, MacBook Pro early-2011 (2ghz i7, 16GB); it's definitely faster than my aspireONE netbook, but that's not hard. Also quicker than 7 - haven't tried Vista or 8.
