The Windows 8 could be a problem. They no longer put a product key sticker on the machine, which would make it easier to just wipe the drive and reinstall windows. If there is a restore function on the computer you might be able to restore it to the state it was in when it first came out of the box.
what are the model numbers of the laptops?
