2. Subler

One of my hobbies is moving my DVD, Blu-ray, and Over The Air DVR'd video collection onto my NAS (Network Attached Storage), which, in addition to serving files to my two computers, iPhone, and iPad, runs Plex server, which organizes and streams my tv shows, movies, etc. to any of my devices. A central part of the process of preparing the various files before they're uploaded to the NAS is adding metadata and optimizing the file for streaming. These two processes are handle very easily & painlessly by Subler. Unfortunately, Subler is macOS only, so apologies to Windows & linux users.

I'm happy to answer questions about Plex, Subler, and Handbrake, if anyone out there is looking to move their video collection onto a Plex server.
