1. It already is the secular, but pragmatic party. Whatever works, getting the job done.

People can have a 'religion' without having it rule their lives or permitting them to discriminate against others. Just as FDR, JFK and Obama. Religion is a choice like anything else. When it's pushed on someone else, it's wrong.
