Your post assumes far too much about Mrs. Obama and the State Department and, by extension, Hillary. You're saying they cannot have a guest who is married to a person that has ideas counter to their own, and that if they do then they must agree with those ideas. That fails on every level of logic.

Feel free to post your thoughts on Mr. Mills' hatred of LGBTQ in other groups and forums all over DU if you wish. It is good information that we should all be aware of. And members of this group read posts all over DU. You can always edit your post here to be in line with our SOP. Or delete it, which would probably be for the best unless you can come up with something sincerely positive to say about Mrs. Obama and this event.

P.S. Personally, I would look at this situation as an effort by Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Clinton to reach out to women all over the world, not only to change women's circumstances but to change the way people in general are treated. The fight against many of the world's prejudices has begun with women, which entails women talking to each other. Think about that, unless you believe that there is a permanent line drawn between those who are for LGBTQ rights and those who are against LGBTQ rights.
