1. I can't imagine why anyone thought it would dry the toilet paper.

Microwaves don't dry out anything that I have seen.

But I have had a microwave fire situation myself. I bought this cloth bag that you put a potato in to bake in the zapper and it was supposed to cook it more like in the oven. Well, my bag caught on fire the first time I used it.....lucky for me I was right there and so was the sink.

Don't bother trying one of those bags!
