Police: Carbondale stabbing was over a brownie [View all]
CARBONDALE - A city man faces felony charges after he allegedly stabbed his brother following a dispute over a brownie Wednesday night.
Erik "Eggs" Cain, 30, 152 Pike Street, was arrested by city police after he stabbed his brother, Gene, in the left forearm, left shoulder and right wrist. According to charges, Erik Cain was upset about a brownie being cut in half.
In an interview at Marian Community Hospital, Gene Cain said he and his brother were arguing over a McDonald's brownie when Erik punched him. Erik then ran to the kitchen, picked up three steak knives and "slashed him," he told Sergeant Joseph Laguzzi. Gene said he "thought his brother was going to kill him," so he retaliated by throwing a television at him, according to police. Erik then fled the scene and was later arrested on Gordon Avenue by Patrolman Jeffrey Arthur, according to the criminal complaint.
