on to their Rovian tricks!

I don't remember anything like this happening in 2008. In fact, I don't believe that I have EVER seen it happen in Dem primaries in my lifetime. These are, however, typical GOPer tricks, very much like those of Donald Segretti in the Nixon-McGovern election year.

IMO, there should be a rule that someone who has never been a Democratic party member cannot suddenly decide to run for President as a Dem. They must have been a party member for at least a specified amount of time. Moreover, caucuses should be abolished altogether and party primary elections should be closed.

Those who want to support third candidates should create their own party structure for those candidates and design their own rules, especially since they believe that Dem party rules should never apply to them if they don't win primaries and caucuses when Dems vote.
