I take a generally dim view to lawsuits against the gun industry just because some kook went on a shooting rampage.

Unless the gun store owner violated existing laws by selling a gun to an illegal buyer, who then went on a killing spree. That's different.

But I don't like the idea that Congress can just pass blanket legislation outlawing all suits against one industry. That seems to smack of government favoritism toward whichever industries have the most political power.

Let people make their case in court, and if a suit has no merit, let a judge throw it out, or a jury find for the defendant.
