(1,788 posts)He went for the big guns, instead of building up. I use to like him a lot, but he's a purist also, and it drives me a bit nuts. Life is compromises, and you hope you do the right thing...and at times you get it very, very wrong. When you don't have to challenge yourself and work with others, you don't take risks. That's just not life.
It does seem that Sanders ran away from his 60's start. Not only what you said, but the fact that he would not stand up to his bernie bros when it came to John Lewis. He knew damn well what was going on and he couldn't be bothered...that seems to be a lot of his problem. He likes the big idea, his purity, but not the crappy work that goes with it. I know for me when he doubled down on the PP "establishment" shit, it made me start thinking that women's issues just wasn't that important. All these things are important and they take more than a vote and a pic getting arrested before I was born...and that was a long time ago.
