Bernie Sanders moved to Vermont 48 years ago, and he may have never been back before he started running for president. If you were born after 1968 - and most of the people who live in Bernie's childhood neighborhood WERE - Bernie Sanders has been a Vermont resident your entire life. He has no clue as to life in the modern-day New York City. Think back during the campaign for New York when someone asked him one of those "how much is a quart of milk?" gotcha questions. Bernie was asked how to ride the New York subway; he answered "buy a token..."; the New York subways haven't accepted tokens since 2003.

Hillary isn't a native New Yorker but she did move there after President Bill left office in 2000. Since a good percentage of New York residents weren't born there, they accept people who moved in far more readily than people in small towns. (There are probably still people in Vermont who think he's an outsider, even though he's lived there a really long time.)

At the end of the day, all Bernie is in NYC, is the same guy who can't connect with minorities, can't connect with women, and just wants to raise your taxes. It's not that appealing.
