"Hillary laughed at a 12-year-old rape victim and defended her attacker."

Well, our first stop was Snopes, which debunked the idea that Hillary laughed at this child. It also pointed out that Hillary asked to be excused from defending the guy, said she believed he was guilty and ended up getting a plea bargain which is what a lawyer is supposed to do, ie: do the best for their client within the confines of the law.

Further surfing took us to other articles from reputable sources that put a very suspect light on the source she had seen. To her credit, my daughter understood beforehand that lawyers are not supposed to let their personal feelings lead them to doing a poor job for their client. I don't think my daughter knew that Hillary asked to be excused from the case, or that she said the guy was guilty. She understood completely that once Hillary was on the case, she ethically had to do the best she could for her client, even a rapist.

That had a big effect on her view of Hillary.
