Bernie is not a people person. I find it rather interesting that the media has all jumped on the "Hillary is not likable and isn't a natural politician like Bill" bandwagon and has given Bernie a pass on his short-fuse, general grumpiness and obvious lack of charm. It is either because they have never considered him a serious candidate who had a chance to get the nomination or plain old sexism. Maybe a little of both.
