... through neglect and indifference, it has been permitted to continue and metastasize. I understand that "clicks" and "ad impressions" have an immediate monetary value, and the frantic pace of this web site is probably generating much desired income for the owners.

But, at what cost? What are the long-term effects for the short-term flurry of page views? Perhaps the owners have more confidence in the resiliency of the community and its ability to heal itself. Personally, I'm a bit more skeptical and see what's going on as irreparable damage to both the community and to the reputation of the web site itself.

(No disrespect intended, these are my personal observations and that's my opinion. There are doubtlessly others who may disagree and who have opinions that may differ, but this one is mine. It is not against the rules to have an opinion that differs from others.)
